Nepal photographs and information |

As I started to put together this page, I thought that I would be able to jot down some background quite quickly. However, I realised that I could not do justice either to the country or to my visit without giving some thought to my words. So for the moment, this remains all too incomplete. Hopefully I will get time and inspiration to add to it before too long. In the mean time, if you are looking at Nepal and want information or pictures, please get in touch. If you do get the opportunity to go their - go! Although at this time (May 2003) there is some unrest in some parts of the country, you should go if possible to experience this unique place and its people. At the end of 1990 I went trekking in Nepal. I chose to do the Everest trek which is a minimum of 30 days walking though it can be shortened by flying in. I also spent some time in Kathmadu. Nepal is a truely amazing country and many of the people, especially the mountain people, are incredibly friendly. Whilst it may have changed significantly from then, it was a confusing mixture of old and new - with the emphasis on the old. I've put some simple animated gifs on this page. These are images from just a few of my many photos from the visit and if anything strikes a chord, please feel free to get in touch. I can make available much larger versions of these images and of course have many other images too. Please note that the images on this page are all © copyright 1990-2008 J.Knight and may not be used without explicit permission. Thanks, JK.
