New Zealand photographs and information

You are in section: Home > Travel & Outdoors

These images are photographs taken on a five month tour of the islands in 1990. New Zealand is, without doubt, the best place on Earth that I've ever visited. I greatly enjoyed my time there both because of the people and the place.

During my visit I toured both islands extensively clocking up nearly 10,000 miles in the old Datsun Sunny stationwagon I managed to buy off some people I stayed with on arrival. It was on its third time round the clock when I got it! I was also fortunate enough to do most of the great treks and even got a few days skiing in too. What a fabulous place, it has all the scenery and geography you could want in a very accessible package. Size wise, it has about the same land area as mainland Britain but is longer and thinner.

One day I'm sure that I will get round to adding some more images to this archive and perhaps jotting down a few of my experiences too. It would be good for me even if no one else finds it interesting.

If you have the time, make New Zealand one of your top targets for a visit.

Please do not use these images without my permission. If you wish to use them or indeed would like prints, please get in touch with me, I would be delighted to hear from you.

I'm afraid that these are currently low res JPEG copies of Photo CD images taken from original slides and they haven't been really optimised for the web.

Please note that the images on this page are all © copyright 1990-2008 J.Knight and may not be used without explicit permission. Thanks, JK.
