Christian Worship Resources

You are in section: Home > Worship Resources

The words and chords list of music is now back online. Is this useful to you? Please let me know what you think of it and how I can improve it.
NB: The search facility is currently not working, you can only browse through the listing (use the old page to seach all entries). Also not many of the detailed resources are in place as yet.
Do you need words, chords, MIDI or even MP3 examples of worship songs? I need to know so if you have an opinion, you need to get in touch. If no one says anything I will assume that you are not interested.

What Is Worship?

Christian Worship is an outward expression of the love that God demonstrates to us.

It can, and does, take many forms. Some musical, some practical and some prayerful. But no matter what the form, it is an outpouring of emotion and love.

Music plays a special part in worship. Largely, I think, because music has such a strong emotional effect on us. Indeed, that can be a problem as it is all too easy to get carried away with the emotional side of things and so neglect the practical.

I've included a couple of links below which give much more detail about what worship is than I indend to here. In addition, the page on the "Worship Curve" gives an outline of how we can best use our emotions in worship and use that to enhance our practical, ongoing lives as well.

Who are these resources for?

This section of the site is primarily for the worship leaders of St. Thomas' Church (Sheffield, UK). Because they may contain copyright materials, I have password protected some of this area for the time being.

Why can't I get access?

Members of St. Thomas' Church may request a user ID from me. If you are a member of another church which has a CCL license then I see no real reason why you cannot also have access, again please get in touch.

What is here?

More like - What will be here - as the resources are still in development.

However, you can expect a list of current worship songs with words and chords (for St. Thomas' people, the St. Thoms "Red Book" will be available online). These will be suitable for printing. I also hope to add additional information such as keys, bible references, what CD's the songs appear on. I may also be able to provide MIDI versions for practice and possibly even music scores and MP3's copyrights permitting.

In addition to the songs, I hope to have some ideas, hints and tips for worship leaders. Some of which will come from my own experiences and others from the worship team at St. Thoms.

If you would like to contribute to any of this then, as always, please get in touch.
